Miriam, Muv & Sewextremeseams; Thanks for all the compliments re Aunt May's quilt. According to my Aunt Gayle, she is still gushing over the quilt and cannot believe that anyone would take the time to make her a quilt. Showed the picture of it to a couple of friends while on a working road trip and they loved it too. Again, thanks for the compliments.
Chris

I had her sit on my lap and worked the foot pedal and she pushed the quilt through to quilt it. They are so proud of themselfs. They are going to put these in the WV State Fair this Aug.

My granddaugher that made the blue quilt found out today she had won 3rd. place for her quilt. I was so happy for her. and I know she was proud to see it hanging with all the other lovely quilts.

Monica, I love the quilt made with jeans! I made a jeans rag quilt a few years ago. It was made using old jeans for one block, alternating with blocks made with appliqued hand prints from each of our grandkids. Anyway, the quilt turned out really cute, but extremely heavy being a rag quilt - it had the jeans fabric on both sides of the blocks of course and it is a full sized quilt. I like your quilt much better! I will never use jeans on both sides of a quilt aqain, but I had gotten the idea from Alex Anderson's quilt show on TV.

You did a really nice job!

Nancy

Another finish for my 301

I had another GS deployed so I did a rush quilt. AnnieRose, my 301, did here usual nice job. A simple pattern, but it was done in time to go with him and that's what matters. My soldiers need to wrapped in stitches of love.

Nancy, Thanks! My quilt is heavy too since I added the batting. This quilt will make an excellent picnic quilt or hammock quilt since the back is all jean material. It is an easy and fast to make. I would like to make another one, but I'm out of jeans. I might have to knock on my neighbors doors asking for any of their unwanted jeans. :)

Very cozy and home-y looking - it's going to be a wonderful reminder of home! :) My hubs deploys frequently and he often comments on how great his quilt is - especially in the winter time - it holds the heat from the electric blanket. Good luck to your grandson! Lot of people here praying for our men and women far from home. :)

This isn't a quilt but it was made on my vintage 1960 Singer 15-125 sewing machine. This market bag was made to enter in the local fair this year. It won Grand Champion. It's made from a old vintage 1977 calendar.

Katfish, Clever taking the cloth calendars to make into a market bag. It's a retro-bag. Great way to recycle!
