I had to. I responded. Likely nothing will happen, but what the heck.

Said I had to have it, I've been looking for a FW with a potted motor forever!!

Kidding.

"Uh… that's a 15-91 like it says on the Original user's manual…

Not even CLOSE to being a featherweight. A featherweight is a 1/2 sized machine, weighs 11 pounds, has a flip up extension to the left of the needle, has a belted motor, and is made primarily of aluminum. They also were only produced starting in 1937.

A 15-91 is a full sized machine, weighs about 30 pounds, has no extension, has no belt for the motor, and is made of cast iron."

The 15-91 is CERTAINLY not a featherweight.
Laws regarding false advertising can be rough."

The seller revised the listing - your email must have shown him the error of his ways!

I've never seen one with the fancy scroll work on the stitch length selector cover plate.

This one looks like it has silver parts where there are normally black parts. Might have to see it in person.

Don't know if this is giggle worthy or not, but it has been listed several times at the same price. Not sure how rare the fold out card table is.

"Anitque Singer Sewing machine is over 100 years old. Still in very good shape. Machine is useable. I have no use for it. Price is firm. This item sells for a higher price than listed. "

$800.

Not on this planet it doesn't.
It's also a 115, Wings decal. Good chance it's not "Over 100" either....

The cabinet doesn't say 100 years old either... I have a 1913 cabinet,.. it doesn't look like that.

C'mon people!!! (sellers).... You want $800?? How about a decent photo?

This one makes me think of some old guy in a chair on his front porch with a mouth like a cats bum, flipping the bird at passers by with a sign that says "$800 for a smile. Take it or leave it."

But come on, it is a sowing machine. Wouldn't that make it an industrial (with all that sowing and all)

It's in a van (maybe a 66 was considered portable in 1925, when women were *real* women)! The cabinet has been painted white!! "looks complete" (the empty slide plate hole is screaming "look at me!!"). See what I mean when I said that nearly all 66s are missing their slide plate?
In case you're wondering, Googs are eggs.

It's one of those "exercise desks". You try and write something, it falls on the floor, you pick it up and start again. By the end of the letter, you've performed a large set of touching your toes! $100 is cheaper than a gym membership.

It is for very short kids.

Is that a dead opossum in the background? Plus this one needs a new "spinning wire" : http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/atq/3942139066.html Also another one says : Selling a New Home treadle sewing machine that's in good condition. No damage or what so ever. Does not come with the sewing machine. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/atq/3886486352.html

mom-6 07-17-2013 08:56 PM

Uh...if the sewing machine part is not there is it still a sewing machine???

Well we know what the opossum died of anyway since he ate the 'spinning wire'

I guess all their sowing was done inside, as the machine "been sitting inside all of its life," as opposed to my machines, which I sit on the porch for Vitamin D once a day. (?!?)

They definitely did use if for sowing, though - you can still see the potting soil on the motor!

I bought a sewing machine on a dark side street in the middle of a small town practically in the middle of nowhere once... does that count?

The lady at the former Singer store here said it's the same thing. WM here sells the Zoom Spout stuff, so did the Singer store. Of course that was before I started shopping at the Bicycle shop for my SM oil...
