Bo Jangles...you have a good eye! DH loves Red Eyes, so that's the majority of our collection. And there are a few Victorian and 1 Lotus treadle. (my auction find so it's my baby!). Will try to get more pics posted. They all sew beautifully (DH gets them back into working condition)..my 17-YO son has claimed one of my Victorian handcranks as his (he quilts too!). Definitely is fun when the whole family can do something together.

I do my piecing on the treadle and my quilting on my 50's model Singer. I first learned to sew on a treadle...it was a Christmas gift from my husband (a Red Eye), but I didn't know how to sew. (laughter). I sure learned quick, though. :)

That's a terrible thing to let happen to one of the old girls. It makes my Leader machine look like a bargain at $85. Still haven't decided. I think I need to go look at it.

Thank you both for all your information. I feel so much better knowing I don't have to take the whole machine apart. I will go to the store and get my supplies tomorrow and then on Saturday I can start cleaning her. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!!!! Joni |
