Naomi is in her new home. DH and I traveled to Okiepastor's (Mary) home today to deliver the 15-91 to her. We had a great visit and got to see all the animals she and Bill have. One little goat was very friendly and even hopped into the van to check things out or hitch a ride, lol. And somehow we managed to get home with 6 of Mary's machines to check out for her. Story of my life; the faster I go the behinder I get.

Nope, but I'd sure bid on the machine if it were closer! I don't need another cabinet. My DH and I are re-finishing 3 right now. The Wilcox & Gibbs is finally coming along nicely after removing two layers of black paint, and a layer of primer!

I have a chance to get a Bel Air machine with all acc. for $100. It is portable. I am not faimiliar with that brand. Can anyone tell me about it, please. Kathie

Kathie, it's one of those 40 pounders, I believe. At least I've seen a heavy, older one; seems like it was blue or turqoise. I'd check it out and offer much less.

I have been offered to purchase a Vintage Singer machine. Can you experts out there tell me what you think?? The man wants 200.00 for the machine? Is it worth it?

If the Bel Air is a Bantam it would be like the singer 99. I have one and it works as good as the 99. It's heaver than a featherweight but I can still carry mine to the quilt club. Mine also has occupied Japan written on it.

It depends on what all is with it ( case and attachments). Make sure the bobbin case in with it and the cord and foot. We have a few and have not paid over $160.00. But like they say on here it is what it would be worth to you.

Question:

Can you drop the feed dogs on a 1923 Model 66?

I'm a new owner of a vintage Singer and just LOVE it, although I've still have much more to learn. It sews a beautiful stitch!
