I have what I think is a Minnesota D model treadle machine. I say D model because the serial number starts with a D. It belonged to my grandmother, who got it used in the late 40s or early 50s. How can I find out more about the manufacturing date and repairing the machine? I have discovered the thread and have been reading through it, but starting from the beginning it will take me a while to make it through all the posts.

My latest finds. The Singer 15-125 is a early birthday present from DH.
The 15 clone I picked up at our church rummage sale for $20. The poor thing has only been used three times. My VSMG pretty much insists I can drop my feed dogs on my old 66. I don't like the idea of unscrewing them out of place and just taking them out when I want to FMQ.
For those familiar with the Singer 66, is there a feed dog cover or something similar to buy to attempt FMQ on the machine? Since I bought her, I've had glowing reviews about FMQ on the 15's, but I don't have a 15, I have a 66. Since the 66 will be my only vintage machine for a while, I might as well learn how to FMQ on her since it was the reason I purchased her.
