I have two of these 185's and LOVE them!

I have a 185J that's supposed to arrive on Friday from shopgoodwill.com. I'm hoping that it arrives all in one piece. I can't wait to look up the date and sew on it. Glad to hear it comes apart easily for cleaning.

Did you get it? I saw it on that auction and thought about bidding, but all my $$$ is gone this month1!! LOL I wanna see pics, please!!

I sent him an e-mail explaining that machine is not a 'vintage' anything! I also directed him on what a 'vintage' Singer Featherweight actually looks like and how to look it up!

Very interesting. If I had the $$ and was a serious FW collector, I would probably consider it. It does appear to be very rare.

That looks like aluminum rot, which is bad news. Now for someone who wants to repaint, it's not a bad deal.

I couldn't see a bobbin case - so that would be an extra expense if it's missing.

The picture showing where the bobbin case should be is so dark that its hard to see much of anything.

If you need a bobbin case, they have one listed now on eBay too, 2 days to go, currently at $18.50:

Unfortunately, what's the purpose of repainting a white one - well unless it goes really cheap! (And then making a cool color!) I was looking for one in better condition. (38 mins to go - $76)

It went for $115. Anyone here get it?
