This is the same exact machine that my grandmother sewed on for years! I learned to sew with her and the grandma next door! You will have such fun with her when you get set up in your new space.

Love that style cabinet every time I see it. Both it and the machine look like they hardly need any work.

Saw this wicked looking modified treadle on CL.

The phrase "it works" scares me.

Funny you should post this as I was just getting ready to mount my old Craftsman table saw on a Singer base that is missing a few parts. It's sturdy and has wheels! Is the base a Davis????

We have a friend who collects antique tools. He has several that are treadle operated. They actually were original. I was shocked and he said yup they powered saws by treadles back in the day. He had a jig saw he was letting kids cut cedar at a festival. (It's been a while....)

deplaylady...I have a question....on the 128, it comes in a cabinet, I see no motor, was it taken off? I understand putting a handle on it but there were no "portable" treadle machines were there? Was this machine electric to begin with...am I confusing?????
