After seeing the listing and the dates of the different machines that they have listed that Charlee gave the web site to, I'm wondering how hard or easy it would be to get a FW made around my birthday in 1945. Oh shoot!! There were just 20,000 made in the whole year of 1945. I'll bet it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Guess I'd better forget about that. :([/quote]

YES!!!! JaneK PM'd me and said that she had a 1945 Featherweight for sale, and then e-mailed me pictures of it. I said YES!!! I WANT IT!!!! I'm sending her a check tomorrow and then she'll send it to me. JaneK is providing that needle in the haystack!!! I am so excited!!!! Can you tell???? :D :D :D

WOOHOO!!!!! That's EXCITING!! I know I was thrilled when the spousal unit bought me my 56 for my birthday...wouldn't trade that machine for the world! :) Congrats!!!!!

A couple weeks ago I asked you for your opinion on a Singer 404 and thanks to you I bought it with cabinet for $35.00. She is beautiful and runs perfect.

Earlier this year I bought this clone "Fabric" that I call the Tank because it is the heaviest machine I own. We put a new foot and wiring on it for a grand purchase total of $57.00

I wanted to put the clone in a cabinet as it weights too much to be lifting up onto the table. I took my new cabinet for the 404 and refinished it (again with some help from here)

I can't wait to try her out. Now I need to come up with a name for her.... When I wrote that about wanting a 1945 FW, I never dreamed that I'd find one so quickly, if at all!! I don't do ebay or buying on line, I guess I'm what you call an 'old foggy' so I didn't think I'd ever find one. The happy dance is what I'm doing. It's finally sinking in.. But I had to promise my hubby that I wouldn't buy any more. He said that they'd have to be paying me to take them for me to get any more machines. I do have a 1939 FW, that I got in May, an old serger (yard sale) in June, and my 1928 99 in Aug., and now this one in Oct. I guess that's quite a few in a short amount of time!!

I have one more picture of the refinished cabinet with the clone installed.

The Singer 404 now becomes a portable and I found a little suitcase in WM that just molds the machine, has wheels and a handle and it is light enough I can carry it. I think I am done on the machines, I have 4 now. I also have a Featherweight but can't locate picture. I sew on all my machines and really enjoy them.
