I do not answer when they put on the email "Is this item still available?" They could says sewing machine, lawn mower or what ever and I would answer. If they put their phone number on there I would answer even a dumb email like that.

Ok Charlee, I just realized what that machine is!!!!!!!!!!!!Hitachi?????? Are you kidding me? I knew they made machines! That is the first electric one I have seen here in the states! I am still very intriqued by my Hitachi treadle. Geeze, I'd like to get it, but I don't need it! I do have one 99 clone made in "Occupied Japan." Oh this is so tempting!!! I don't buy off of E-bay, unless I can pick up the machine. Remember when I bought my little 99 clone - the "Made in Occupied Japan" machine? It arrived with the case completely crushed - packed so poor even my postoffice was complaining!

BrandyBrook, Your badge on the machine is "New York Sewing Machine Company"...but I haven't been able to find out much more than that! These days, they deal in commercial/industrial machines....but not entirely sure it's the same company as your machine is from.

I know what you mean, Miriam. I have occasionally gotten a strange email from someone when we were trying to sell our little miniature cattle on craigslist. They stick out kind of funny in some way and those go straight to spam trash. But, for all the years we have used craigslist, both to buy and sell just about everything, we have met the nicest people and clicked with them. Probably in different locations of the US/world you can get a higher percentage of weirdos. May all of your inquirerers be of the gentler kind.:)

it looks like they have been rescued by someone. there is a vintage machine enthusiast/collector/restorer/seller in the area (belleville, il). i am wondering if she got them. she restores the vintage machines and then posts them on CL for $300+. she currently has a 15-91 listed for $350.00. that's a bit pricey to me but what do i know.:) i paid far less for my two 15-91's.:thumbup:

i will keep watching her ads to see if she got them what she lists them for.

I just looked at my emails from craigs list. I happen to have five things listed this week. it looks like I exchange about 10 emails per sale. More than I thought. I also looked at the relationship between no shows and phone numbers and found no relationship.(For example, today I had one sale, where we never exchanged phone numbers, and three no shows with phone numbers that didn't come, didn't call, and didn't answer their phone!) Which surprised me. Just to add info, I just hit reply to the ad, never change anything. I don't call unless it says please call no emails, or something like that. Most people seem to let the phone go to message, and I am really not interested in phone tag!

Packing a machine to ship is too much work. It would have to be a very high dollar machine for me to be willing to deal with ebay. I do ebay collectible stuff that needs a wider audience to sell. For example, I am down sizing my collection of Fisher Price vintage toys. That has to be on ebay, it's too weird of a collection. But not the tiny sewing machine! I'm keeping the tiny Fisher Price sewing machine!
