Skip...here she is...and I just want y'all to know how difficult it is to sew on a treadle while holding the spool of thread in your right hand and somewhat guiding the fabric with your left hand!! :D :D :D

This is pre-clean/oiling...but everything moves smoothly and makes a nice stitch if you thread it right and don't drop the thread on the floor!! It will be tough to decide between keeping this one and keeping the 1916 backclamp that I have!! Please ignore the mess in the background!!

I think this one might take me more than a week or so to fix up!! William's going to check to see if the man still has the lid for it...as of now it's MIA!

Charlee the decals look like they are in pretty good shape. The cabinet needs some work but you are up to it. The 66 is my favorite machine. I learned to sew on Grandma's 1916 Red Eye and of course I still use it as my go to machine. Machines are best when they are free. All in all a very nice machine.

Those decals are great, Charlee!

When cleaning/oiling, I found a few spots that the man had "touched up" on the decals..but all in all, they're pretty good! :)

Skip! If he doesn't have the lid for the cabinet, can you make me one?

Monica, I quite understand your difficulty. It took me a little while working it out in real life, and I had the benefit of three dimensions. The cabinet was full of stuff, so I pulled out a big box of material, found no treadle pedal underneath and was really confused. Next I had my head on the floor looking under the cabinet. Only then did it dawn on me that the floor of the cabinet was also the treadle pedal. I couldn't believe there was enough clearance at the sides, but when I had a quick go at treadling there was absolutely no contact with the side panels. I can imagine that there would be a problem here in England with the wood expanding with the damp.

The link that you put up to the auction site was interesting. The price of that machine was 99 zlotys, that was in 2010. The present exchange rate makes that roughly £20. I'll let you all convert that to dollars.

Also, that is a really nice picture that you found of the older machine. I've squinted at the decal in the centre of the bed. It is of an archer, which is what Lucznik means.

Thanks MUV for posting the additional picture. I too would be looking underneath that wood pedal to see how it works and testing it out. Thanks for understand my curiosity. I have never seen a treadle like this. I'm still have difficulty understanding how it treadles without hitting the wood cabinet, be it sides or the back panel. Oh well.
