My SIL's grandmother has a Pfaff treadle with a coffin top. From what my DD tells me, it is in perfect condition. I hope that someday it will go to my DGD. She is 4 and already loves fabric and wants to learn to sew.

A friend of mine has 2 Pfaff treadles and they are really neat. If you go to Marcelli's Blog you can see them.

What do you all think of the Atlas sewing machine? I just won one on Ebay this morning. From the description, it seems to be in very good condition. It just needs a new belt. I love it because of the color.

Can I join in here.
I read a few pages back but you guys have an impressive thread going :D So I figured I will just jump right in Well I have always had my treadle and once I got it back up and running I have used it some. I am thinking of doing my husbands Anniversary quilt on it. At least the quilting part not sure if I will hand piece it or not. Here is my baby History my Dad bought it for my mother for their Anniversary in 1992. Dont know the history beyond that but it has now been in my family for 18 years. |
Lostin51 - Billy - What do you think about the machines in the links that I posed on pg 268 & 269?
Are any of these a good purchase? |
The best sewing machine I ever owned was a portable White. All the parts were metal. No plastic insides. You could mend Blue Jeans on it and it never missed a beat. Then I wanted a new machine. I was good, but here 45 years later I still wish I had that White machine.
