Where can I get the "Cleaning your machine Tutorial?" I am so hooked on vintage machines, I think I better get the tutorial! Nancy |
All, I miss the shop since I am visiting my Mom. But the good news is tomorrow I am going to start cleaning the treadle my sister picked up for me. I will have photos tomorrow if I can figure out how to load them on this public computer.
Everyone is doing such a great job on finding some beauties. And the cleaning tutorial. Well isn't that great! Good job on the Red Eye. |
I was telling the gal that was cutting my fabric today about all my recent vintage machines acquisitions. I told her that I don't do dog rescue, (although both my dogs are rescues, so I sorta do), I do sewing machine rescue. She laughed and said that she feels that way too. Maybe we need to organize and call ourselves a vintage sewing machine rescue and figure out a cool name and such. Don't rescue organizations gets grants and such? Hmmm, that could be fun.

Weedwoman, You have a National rotary machine. She's in a little rougher shape than mine but I have a cabinet that is similar.I can help you out with threading and such when the time comes.

This is the treadle I purchased this week. I can find no info on her at all. Any ideas on how to find her age/origin?
Thanks for any advice. BTW she has a great stitch. Runs like a star. And note the applewood rod connecting the treadle pedal to the fly wheel. |
Please let m know what you think of these.
Don't know what the first is - maybe a White? http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ220509120 This one is an identical cabinet to my Red Eye http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ220528790 This one may be in poor shape http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ220482927 |
