Wow that lady must have spent thousands of dollars for her collection. I have never seen so many small machines in my life. She certainly has them displayed very nicely. would like those shelves for my fabric tho.

The water slide decals sold for china ( ceramic) work on machines. (auction site) You just have to clear coat or shellac over them and they come in hundreds of designs for cheep. I put poppies on a machine that I badged the Californian. Laura

Faye has an incredible collection. Skip, I know you have met her--she and her husband Ralph come to the Tennessee TOGA. It looks like Bonnie Hunter is becoming a collector as well!!
I have a stupid question, but I guess it can't hurt to ask. It has to do with reading this board. For some reason, the posts are too long for the boxes, and sometimes if there's a one-line reply, I can't read them at all. Nope, not very tech-savvy. Just got back from a few days in Tennessee with some other vintage machine enthusiasts. Despite my best intentions, I came home with a metal-based New Home and a red/cream clone. I haven't been buying machines, as I have more than my share, but these two climbed in the car and came home with me. Also spent too much time in fabric stores, and came home with a stack, but that's another story!! Absolutely incorrigible! I did get a little bit of piecing done, and used an aluminum clone (class 15 Japanese), which has become a favorite HC due to it's light weight. THAT'S why it's so hard to get rid of these puppies--each one has it's own charm. Happy spring, I hope!

If it is the bobbin cover you start at the back and go forward onto the clips. Some times you need a screwdriver to raise the spring/clips to go into the channels of the cover.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Slide plate with a clip?? |

I think you have 3 choices for how you want your posts to be displayed.... Scroll to the top of this page and find the topic heading. Then look to the right of the screen and it says: Thread Tools v Search Thread v Display v and I think if you click on the drop down arrow for display, then you can choose how you want things to be displayed. Otherwise it will be somewhere in one of those. Sorry can't check while I'm writing! |

Skip I deserve it, though!! I moved last summer; did a lot of work on both houses, and finally sold the old house in December. Still have "stuff" to do, but no energy to do it. I still have not organized the garage or sewing room and I still have a storage unit. My husband is throwing out not-so-subtle hints about the unit, so guess that will be on my list for the summer. I know I said no more machines, but I was hanging out with enablers!!! |
