I'm still not sure whether I have done something clever or stupid! Did I really need another machine? I think it was more a want than a need, plus it seemd such a bargain at the time.

Lesley, you have made the deal and purchase of a lifetime...around here those machines are very rare and very pricey...much, much more than what you paid....so, let the happy dancing commence!!!!

I am dancing for you here on this side of the Atlantic.....
:D :D :D

(We always need another FW---never just a want...always a need)

It was a similar situation to when I bought my white one, hardly any bids because it has a 240v motor (which is what Ireland uses). Now I just have to wait to hear from the vendor about cost of shipping to get it here. Without the shipping, I got it for $376.52!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was that a bargain, or was it a bargain? I just looked up to see if I could see how old it is, and it's another one of those things where I can't see 'my' serial number mentioned. It's quoted as EK631023. Billy, can you help please?

If you want a peek, you can see it here:

Wow that's a lovely machine. It doesn't look like its been used very much t all. Great price too.

Wow, I didn't even know there was a FW freearm machine! It looks like you got a steal if the other prices of those 222's are correct!

Thanks Darcene & Nancy - Perhaps we can all dance in a circle. I haven't ever seen one of these free arm machines in the flesh, in fact I have only ever seen one black one (owned by my quilty friend)

I am consoling myself with the thought that I have actually made a good investment. I think the 240v motors put people off bidding for them, but as I understand it, you can either get replacements, or have one changed to the other, or get a little converter thingy (technical term). LOL

I bet someone on this group can answer that converter question. I am curious as to what either Billy, Miz Johnny, Charlee, or some of the others think. I bet one, if not all, of them has faced the same problem.

Sewgirls, here is a web page for White sewing machines. There lots of pictures to help you identify your machine and they also have a machine dating list.

Hope this helps!

Well I scored a 301 with a ton of accessories yesterday! It is a tan short bed and it even came with the bracket to mount it to the cabinet.
