Just found this Japanese 15 clone today... at a garage sale on the way home from the gym! It's a Wizard, a green one! If anyone knows anything about it, please spill... On the underside of the body it's got "JC25" embossed in the metal, and then nearby there is a hand-painted number "JA14" and then stamped into the metal it says "013296". Three number notations. What does it all mean?

It moves great. I ran it for a few seconds and got the faint odor of burning, so I won't try that again until I've cleaned it well and re-oiled and packed the grease ports with vaseline. It had an old tape stuck on it as a fabric guide, which left a nasty sticky residue when I removed it. What is the best way to get that off-- sewing machine oil?

My latest purchase - 66-1, Oct 1909, D1351513, Lotus decals. Currently has a modern motor on it and in a modern case, but I am going to re-treadle it soon. I don't have possession of it yet, so this is pic from the website where I bought it. I'll put up more when it's cleaned up.

Nice machines!!

I just bought her today at a yard sale. According to Singer's website, she is a Class 127, born December 8, 1925 in Elizabeth, NJ. She's not in the best shape right now, but will clean her up when I get the right materials.

Here are pictures of my Little Vesta which I hope you all like. The doll gives some idea of the scale. If you are interested you can see the machine on Youtube - the title is "How to thread a Little Vesta". Over the past month or so my husband and I have put three videos onto Youtube. I am on a mission to show people how to use old machines. The other two videos show the Singer hand machine that I learnt to sew on. Apart from ten traumatic minutes in a needlework class at school in 1967 or 8, I have never used an electric machine, and it's far too late to start now!

i found this machine today . i believe it started out a treadle. it is dull black , has centinal plate on it , shuttle bobbin,the hand wheel is shiny black, number on base is AK854818 . there a number stamped under bed of machine 54564. it is electric , motor looks older than my 1955 fw . it is i think a singer. forgot how to load pic

--Hit the 'reply' button
--under the box where you would post your reply you will see "File Attachments:
--click on "choose file"
--this will bring you to your photos that are on your computer
--highlight whichever pic you want to show
--click "choose button" which will be in the lower right hand side of the screen
--this will return you to your reply page and you will see the file that you selected
--add a description in the rectangular white box to the left of the "choose file" button

I think that little Vesta is adorable!!!!!!!

Those are some great machines! Yippee on the 66-1 Lotus find! I adore mine. I'd rather piece a quilt on that treadle then sew on anything else I have. It's so soothingly precise in all it's movements and sounds.
