Thank you Rain, interesting videos. This is exactly what I have done with my machines. All mine have spoked wheels and a much smaller washer, but it's the same principle, but still some of them stick.

Muv, have you tried the trick with holding the take-up lever still in bobbin winding mode? After 30 seconds of that, there's no reason the parts should continue to stick unless one of the pieces demonstrated in the videos is no longer smooth and has somehow become pitted or grooved.
