Default Is this a Sears product?

I been naughty too. Poking through CL this morning I found this: { http://springfieldil.craigslist.org/atq/4843750202.html }. Oh my is it pretty.

It's a Damascus in a parlor cabinet. The cabinet looks a lot like the one my Franklin 1911 is in. The machine has a lot of Davis characteristics but also some W&W too.

So I'm wondering; is this a Sears sold machine, and was it made by Davis? If not Davis, who?

National and Davis are similar. I get them confused a lot.

I find that perusing CL and resisting is good practice (or so I tell myself each time I buy another).

I'll second - Damascus is a badge sold by Wards. As is Burnswick. National seemed to be a major supplier to Wards for many years. It's neat to find one that also has the old Wards coat of arms on it.

OH OH OH!!! I just looked again, that is the rotary Damascus Grand that I'm looking for! If it was close, I'd pay $200 for it in a heartbeat.

BTW - teh VS machines did not have "Grand" as part of the name.
