Congratulations. Great deal. The serial looks like B1310015 to me, which would mean that it is one of 20000 allocated September 1 1905 of model 66s at the Elizabethport factory in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I'm pretty sure that only 66s had that decal set. It would be a 66-1 as it is a back clamp.

Did you get any "fiddly bits" with it?

You can find a manual at https://www.singer.com/support (Not affiliated with link). I think you will have to put in 66 and you will want the 66-1 manual.

Thank's for the info. I was having trouble researching. I was looking up 6 digit serial numbers where this has a 7 digit serial number. Rookie mistake but now I'm finding all kinds of info. For instance the decals are call "thistle". I think I'll stick with calling then Lotus. No "fiddly bits" Im lucky the straight stitch foot was there. If that where missing it would have been a nightmare to first figure out and the to replace. The only thing missing on the machine is the tension spring on the tension assembly. The check spring is there but the main spring is not.

You got a wonderful Singer 66. I have one too, made in 1908, lotus decals.

I am absolutely on moratorium for new VSM, but I would make an exception for a lotus decal 66! It could go in my 1913 treadle that waits for attention in my shed ;-)
I think the lotus is the prettiest Singer decal set and it is much harder to find in the US than the red-eye, for example. I understood that decal set was mostly sold in the UK where it is much more common than red-eye decals. What a fantastic find!

I don't see a boss on it for attaching a motor or a handcrank. There was another option with an arm around for attaching a motor, but I've never seen one in real life. This would be a great treadle machine. It took me quite a lot of cleaning to find out my Lotus was a Lotus. it will never look this good,

I see more red eye than lotus. It should be a good one to treadle. I’m wondering it that one has a heavier wheel? If so that one will fly through fabric on a treadle.

I now have this machine cleaned, oiled and mounted in a treadle that I bought for it over the weekend. It's not a singer treadle, this one has the word "Sister " written in the foot peddle and the rear support brace. After reading some of the post here I feel obligated to find a genuine singer treadle to put it in. Anyway, my 1905 Singer Lotus has sewn it's first stitches in 70 years or more.

Default New purchase

I have just purchased a singer treadle with lotus decals says it’s number is B1311936 it says it is a 1905 model 66. How did you know the other lady’s was a 66-1? Also any tips on cleaning it and how to oil it? I don’t want to make the decals rub off. How do you know where it was made? I did get all the attachments and the cabinet. And the attachments are in a wooden really neat fold out box.
Any information or sites to research would be welcome.
