I've seen that before, too. I also got one that looked VERY new - the tension spring was not set right.

    Hi Everyone,
I have some new Craig's List ads showing rusty machines for outrageous prices.

    http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/4152767484.html
No machine shown, but just the cabinet and apparently it has implements: http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/4101180571.html
The cabinet is in poor condition, they want $250: http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/4135703333.html
machine rusted and it can be yours for a mere $200! :http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/4119215899.html
Singer red eye that's rusted and the cabinet has a large burn on the top:http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/4111948527.html

    And I have a bridge to sell.[/QUOTE
They obviously can't make up their mind which model it is and for that price I would expect the table and a whole lot more.

This one has come up before. They have a description for the 500a farther down in the ad.

really? wonder if it comes with all the junk in the pic? maybe it's $700 without, and $1000 with. I guess the belt is extra?

This one looks like fun to thread...NOT:

That is the understatement of the year. They forgot to say that some look like critters might have lived in them.

I like that one with just one end of a bentwood case, that is somehow attached to the base.

I don't know that I would give him $50 for the whole lot, and even if I did, all of the wood would be staying there.

From the ad: "This has sold on ebay without the cabinet for $350. $250 or make offer." How about $30 and you dust it before I pick it up?

Good grief. Even his camera lens is filthy.

Was he trying to imply that that particular machine sold for $350 on eBay?

If it wasn't such a long drive I would offer about that for a machine in need of service.

I was wondering that, too. If he sold it for $350 on Ebay isn't it illegal to turn around and sell it again for $250 on CL? Let the buyers duke it out eh?

I think so. I do believe that Anastasia is correct that the seller thinks he has a featherweight or he's hoping for a sucker to come along.
