Vintage Giggles aka What are they smoking????
#1773
Hmmm. I would guess this falls into the "what were they smoking" category. I would like to know where she did her research at???
Also, if you want me to spend a thousand dollars on your machine could you AT LEAST turn the pictures upright. Thanks.

THIS is the most irritating thing!!! It applies to any kind of collectible or antique/vintage item too - people see somebody asking an arm and a leg for something but don't realize, you can ask whatever you want on Ebay, it doesn't mean people will pay it. You have to go to completed listings and even then take it with a grain of salt. People still overpay and because ONE sold for some incredibly crazy high price it doesn't mean yours will. UGH UGH UGH!!!

You also need to look at the niceties of condition if you're going to use eBay as a price guide. Too much work for most people, though, because in order to understand the condition you need to have at least a little knowledge about the product.

What I can't figure out is what ebay sellers are trying to do? Drive the prices up? What does it get them to have to list their wares over and over again because no one will pay $900 for a 1950s model 99 in a table?

That's a gimmick that you can get by going to mysingerstory.com and providing a serial number!
I have one for all of our machines.
I can't figure out if that's a scammer or someone completely intelligence challenged.
