Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Jan, you did a great job on that machine! You are so close to sewing can hardly wait to hear you have Beatrice sewing again. I have a handcrank that is about the condition of yours only lots more rust. I hope someday it will look as nice.
Charlee, sorry for your loss. I was going to ask the same question about your new avatar picture. Girl, looks like you have lost some weight along with age! No wonder William is so good to you, he's got a trophy wife.
You did a great job on the cabinet. It is so cute and so much happier then it's previous dull plastic coating. Yes, it is not vintage looking but definately a keeper now.

Last summer I bought this fiddlebase Singer off CL. I had to get another boat shuttle for it, but the rest of it was intact. There was little paint left on her, so I knew she would be a repaint. The veneer was off the top of the table, but it was hardwood in 4 pieces underneath. I haven't got her sewing yet, as the shuttle is rubbing on the feed dogs, but she is pretty to look at. Now to find a coffin top for her and maybe a drawer or two. The seller has restored a police car just like the one in Mayberry RFD, the old Andy Griffith show. I decided to name this machine Beatrice, after the Mayberry Aunt Bea.
Many thanks to Glenn for all his help and guidance.

Texas Jan, the minute I left the computer the other day, I realized my mistake! Unfortunately, we can't edit later! I meant to ask if you had a Model 12, I know it is not a model 24! Anyway, great job! You really take on some rough projects and they always come out so nice!

Charlee, I am sorry about the loss of your sister. I hope time heals your hurt. I need healing time myself, as my mom passed away on the 17th. Her cancer was too farspread, and she had other underlying conditions, that were too much for her body to handle. We had the funeral yesterday, and she would have liked it. She had a special quilt that she had made for herself for naps that we used as a drape on her casket, instead of flowers. It looked so appropriate. It was then presented to my older daughter because she was her grandmother's most helpful workers(pedicures, floor cleaning, doctor visits). I will miss her so much. We did a lot of things together. I know it will get better, but right now it is not.

Oh Melinda, I am so sorry! ~hug~ It sounds like her service was beautiful and touching. You will always miss your mama, but time will ease the pain, and it won't be terribly long before your thoughts of her bring you warm "fuzzies" , smiles, and laughter. In the meantime, the pain you feel at her loss is a tribute to your love for her.
~hug~

(I have faith in you, can you tell? )
