This Weekend’s Yardsaling Finds

The serial number on the Singer 28-1 is 9655305, which makes it an 1890 model instead of 1889. I got lazy reading my serial number sheet, I guess. Thanks to Steve for pointing that out to me after asking about the serial number in a PM.

Well, I did rather well on what I was looking for. Took down the entertainment center in my sewing room as it was too small in the area I needed to put my 1950's Elvis record player with am/fm radio and CD player. Went on a hunt for something wide enough to house my tv and record player as well as the dvd player, vhs player and cable box. I found an all wood credenza with 3 drawers and 2 cabinet doors at the bottom==guy at yard sale wanted $50 but I only had $30 and he took it. It is 59" long--tv sits on top left and I got a shoe rack (wood top and sides with 2 heavy coated wire shelves==record player sits on top,vcr on 1st wire shelf and dvd on bottom one with the cable box on the credenza hiding all the wires. The shoe rack was $5 at the thrift store. DH hung long shelf above it all to hold 5 of my 8 Elvis dolls. Vhs tapes in bottom along with cd cases and still more room to store things plus I have not yet used the drawers. My GD bought me a small cabinet with one drawer, a short door and a long door which is where my Elvis records are at the Habitat for Humanity store. Saw lots of sewing machines--most were $20 to $40 dollars in and out of cabinets, but nothing I wanted. Now I can start the process of sorting through all the fabric and purging more of it.

I just spotted two empty cases like mine (Seller has two of them) on that auction site listed with a Buy-it-Now for $149 each.........We’ll see if they sell.
If they do, I got a better bargain than I thought!

No actual yard sale finds today but I picked up a Greist buttonholer at a thrift store for $1.00. It's a nice shade of blue and says long shuttle on the box. It looks complete and the attachment is for a top clamp. You don't have to remove the clamp to install it. No idea what it might fit yet.
