Hey folks, I just got my $20 #8 "Parts Head" I wanted a head to redo and MOP but the one I just got is probably not going to get that treatment...
1. the paint is better than my working machine
2. This is the ONLY one I have seen that has this bottom configuration (I have 4, 3 match)
two of the same, one different

underside

Different needle bar and presser bar

I come across the same things with my early new homes and early strandards..New homes one will have a needle bar made from flat stock it's stitch rod under the bed is from round stock, the other needle is round, stitch lenght rod is flat..
standards two are the same and round bobbin,, the other look the same in it's body and paint scheme, BUT it's a vs
of course the bobbin winders.. I have to wonder if these things were done as a cover your A$$,, always remember who ol man singers right arm was.. you know very well singer was filing lawsuits for anything they could. Like using the same color of Black.

Oh, and with an overnight treatment of Kroil it is turning smooth and free, All movements.
Now to clean and find or make the missing parts!
