Working on my White "Vanity" cabinet
Several months ago, I purchased a 1929 1X White Embossed in a Vanity cabinet. The machine is exquisite and cabinet not so much. Started working on my White Embosed Rotary Sewing machine "Vanity" cabinet. I tried Howard's Restor-A-Finish. It didn't work on this cabinet, but I would definitely try it on something else. Looks like maybe there was a pickled finish put on the cabinet. I used Formby's Furniture Refinisher. It dissolves the existing finish without removing the stain, so that is the original color. Pretty gorgeous. I will be finishing it with a tung oil hand rubbed finish.
I am including a pic of the machine. Did need to get a motor pulley and a bobbin winder rubber, which I got from Cindy Peters.
