Honchey that is a horrible experience. I am glad it is over so you both can rest and enjoy your day. My husband is from Texas, and he told me about those fire ants. We have been having some really big black ants, and I am trying to find their nest so I can do something. I don't guess these are fire ants, but one bit me. Hugs

OH Anne! I am sure that ya were terrified! We are constantly sprinkling Amdro around fire ant mounds in Brady. Sometimes we get a few mounds here in Midland too, but not near as many as in Brady.
I have been working in the sewing room the last few days & I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am gonna go & get some more under the bed bins later today. Well after I take a nap.

I had a very busy day off at sex thirty this morning to join another couple and Quilter 65 to see three shops I had not seen before in Missouri. Good news is that I have licenses from most of them to share back with you all. Best one was the bonus one at the end..."Buggy 4 fabrics" license one. (Amish) Yes, I hope it will reflect the shops we all shop at for our quilt supplies in our own local area. Seen lots of things came home with a few, and so thankful the other couple drove the car and we got to relax and enjoy their company. We all seem to enjoy the bargains we found and matching up what we were looking for in each of the gals wish list. Whew! Now ot rest and early to bed tonight.
May all of you have a great weekend.

Great day, QNS!
I've been doing some heavy 'fabric procurement', myself. Earlier this week I went to one of our LQS to get license plates and the RxR pattern, and ended up buying the whole kit from them. I've noticed the shops are really pushing their kits. This one had some special fabric and three unique buttons, so if you wanted it to come out like their sample, you had to buy a kit. They are sneaky that way! Then I went to the Hancock's liquidation sale and fattened my stash with some great $2 fabrics and handfuls of embroidery floss (9 cents each!). Then on to another LQS for another RxR pattern, and also some great clearance fabrics I can use in my I Spy quilts for kids. That was MONDAY or Tues.... Then Wed. I drove to Vicksburg because that (notso)LQS is the only place to buy feedsack repro fabrics, and precious little as it is. It's getting harder and harder to find it! Also picked up their pattern, so now I have 3. I won't be winning any prizes as it would take too much long distance traveling to find 8 patterns to make into the quilt. I plan on using some I have from last year, and I may not finish until next year. Maybe some of the license plates will go on sale after the RxR is over... if there are any left.
And today I went back to one of our Hancock's and got some more fabric. One of our stores is closing on Monday, and the other one will be open for a few more weeks.
I don't even know where to put this new stuff... but I couldn't pass it up for $1.80 - $2.40 a yard! It will make great quilt backs or charity quilts, eventually.

OH SBG, It sounds like ya had a great time. You too QNS!
I have been cleaning out the sewing room like a crazy woman. Gosh, where did I get all this stuff?
I am sitting in my recliner playing Zuma. I am tired & have been sighing. DH has been teasing me about the sighing & I finally admitted that it was hard to throw so much stuff away. LOL I do feel a bit better now.

SBG, I hope you show us some pictures of your 'acquisitions' that came home with you.
Honchey, JeanieG, SBG, and BillieJean and Dublb I have listed on my license plate exchange....to keep it simple why don't we just exchange one for one and mail it directly ...me to you and you to me??? And go the way each of us want to with the collection: purses, totes or wall hanging or whatever.... Minimize the expenses and let everyone do their own thing...
My haul from yesterday:Please let me know what you think of the one on one exchange or suggestions that would be the simplest.

I got it! Beat the mailman, thank goodness... So I have purchased 6 Mississippi plates that say "Bless Ur Heart". I have 5 to trade but could get more if needed. If you want to trade with me please pm me with your address, and I'll give you my address.
NinaSue, that "MakeMeMoQuilts" plate is too funny. Also like "CutsnBolts"...

Ok... NinaSue asked for it! Here are the photos of my fabric shopping this week. I had already started washing, pressing and folding some of it... others, not. Don't know where I'll put it all! May have to start stashing in another room.
I make and sell I Spy quilts, tops and kits, so I'm always looking for good novelties like these for my I Spys...

These are the feedsacks I bought in Vicksburg to round out some of my colors. Still a little shy on oranges as they had hardly any.

These are from the Hancock Fabrics liquidation-- great for future quiltbacks.

And more from Hancocks for quilt backs or whatever.

More Hancocks yardages, a plush for a toy, and some pink cotton knit for a new nightie for me!

Fat Quarters from Hancocks

The 'doo dads' from Hancocks

Two pieces of fleece for quick blankets to donate to a shelter with teenage boys

And last but not least... Here are my three Row by Row patterns and one kit, plus the license plate that I have 5 of to trade, plus another little pattern by Sweet Jane.

Close up of the special buttons in the kit... they go on the vertical row pattern-- the magnolia tree.

Looking at all this shopping I did all week, it's no wonder nothing got done at home!
