Beautiful pictures, OK. I feel like I have been to a quilt show without leaving home.... only I cannot touch them and give them a pat. But at Quilt Shows these days....you cannot touch or take pictures!

Trying to find a solution to a big mess. I'm not a pre-washer unless the fabric is dark blue, black, or purple. I test other colors before using. (I'm talking about batiks). I made a table topper out of one of my 50 Stars, it's orange & brown (which I hate), got it quilted, sprayed the blue marks and it the orange bled. It did not bleed when I tested it. The background is off-white with some yellowish orange swirls so one place looks like it's part of the swirls. The other place looks like a bleed. What do I do? It's sitting there staring at me right now. Should I bind it and wash it with color catchers? Is it a total loss? Help me, ladies--I'm counting on you! Thanks so much!!!

If you dried it with heat, JanRN, it may be set. But I would wash it again with a color catcher.

Sorry Jan, I don't know what to tell you. I never pre-wash...just add 3-4 color catchers in the washer for a large lap/twin quilt. If the color catchers are dark I wash again before drying...more a couple new ones thrown in.

Ok, great pictures with your guild.. all of you get so much accomplished.

Jan, I've gotten many a spot or blur of stain removed by making a paste of Oxiclean and q-tiping it on the area..let it sit for awhile then rinsing it off..but on a quilt I don't know... there is a color remover on the market you might be able to "spot" clean it..the problem with any of this is the running of the surrounding fabric....if you have any of the same fabric left over I would try any of the above on that fabric first to see what would happen to it.
Next step for DH is on the 23rd..getting closer to the end procedure which will be scheduled within a week of the 23rd...so hopefully we'll be done with it all by the middle of February and on our way to NC..

Jan, can you find a product called "Zout" in the laundry aisle. It's in a thick liquid form. I used this on a red and white block that bled while I was steam pressing. And yes it had been pre washed and dried. Apply it to the stained area and any other susceptible spots. Wash it, see how it looks, and then dry it. Best of luck.

Tomorrow, like Orphan Annie sang long ago. Tomorrow, I get the nose job and hope they can finish in two hours.... and no reconstruction. But I think that is why the Eye Surgeon quit and is letting the skin specialist do the deed, he thought it when in too far for him to have it heal without the reconstruction Dr. Josh Wilson will be doing at Lakeview on Friday in Des Moines.

Hushand wants more rice pudding made; I used Honchey's recipe and he loves it. I am going to the kitchen and start on it. Everyone have a good day.

Thank you all for the suggestions re my fabric bleed. I went to Walmart very early this am; they just added back the fabric dept so I thought maybe they'd have Synthrapol. Nope. Went to the laundry aisle and found something called Carbona Color Run Remover. It worked!! Removed all trace of the bleed but I noticed it dulled the orange fabric a little in areas. The orange was overwhelming anyway so it looks much better toned down. It was to be donated to an auction but I'm rethinking it; I have other items. I just don't like bright orange. Thanks again for the suggestions--I can always count on yinz.

Back home again. It went pretty good today. Excellent doctor and team at Des Moines. We were late by 15 minutes, but I had called them when we reached the outskirts of DM, so they did take us in after bawling us out a bit about being late. He was quick and did the deed in about 3 or 4 minutes, then checked me for more and found two more on my face. So I go back a week from today to learn if they were skin cancer or not and to take the stitches out from today. Yes, it hurt and will be hurting this next week but it is done. It will take a whole year to completely fade away, but I told them no beauty contests are planned, so that is ok with me.
