I'm doing a photography course and one of the assignments is making something disappear with PhotoShop.

Isn't it great you can make everything disappear in a picture? It would be great if there's a tool we could do those things with our quilt blocks :D :D

I need a tool to make my wrinkles disappear!!

DD, I mailed you MB on June 20 so I'm guessing it's lost. We can give it a few more weeks to see if it turns up; if not, I'll do another one. Glad your home and safe and not roasting in the heat.

QNS, what do you do with your guineas after they're grown? Do you use their eggs? Do they become dinner? I don't remember too much about my sister's guineas except they were mean and used to hide up in the trees. Those babies look too darn cute to be mean!

JanRN, its a lot like dogs from different kennels, depending on how they were raised whether they make a good 'pet' or simply let them grow up. Guineas need the imprint of human hands several times a day, and I don't always follow through as good as I should. We do try to handle gently, and talk to them a lot. By clipping the wing tip before they are two weeks old, they cannot fly. But they do eat every insect their eyes see, especially ticks. That is why we put up with their noise and commotion and hope to increase the number of guineas we have. The adults will never win a beauty contest, but the newly hatched keet is cute. I have to count their bills to see how many are in the photograph!! Thought it would be something 'different' for you city gals to see a picture of the fowl.

Old sitting hen hatched out three from the last batch, and now nine of this batch of eggs...she has done a wonderful job sitting on the eggs. If/maybe the Guinea Hen will hatch a few more...if the raccoons and skunks do not find her.

DD, hoping cooler weather will find you; its just July, not August or September, yet. No doubt, Texas has it hot as well, and Arizona, too.

Good luck with your photography class, Anael. Looks like you are learning a lot, making something disappear from the photo. Its an interesting click-click to capture things on film or digital disk, I think.

Funny!!! I scrolled down thru and when the Guineas popped into the frame..I scared myself!!! I couldn't figure out what it was for a second...They are cute...from what I could make out...

so today was D day at the Doc's and the good news is, according to the report, the rotator cuff and bicep tendon are intact, so that's good right...
Then the bad news, there is a tear of the supraspinatus tendon with the tear extending across approximately 50% of the width of the tendon.
Now good news, it can be fixed with surgery, now bad news, there is a 2 year waiting period for this surgery, now for the "my life sucks right now news" if it tears completely before I can have surgery there is no fixing it and I will not be able to raise my arm above chest height.
The Doc told me to find a new hobby, he suggested watching tv or reading, I asked for a referral to a physiatrist as I was going to need therapy:D, he gave me a cortisone injection which he said should last 6 months so I told him I would be back for another jab when that one wore off...

SO I have managed to get 3 quilts quilted and bound in 4 days, I know call me crazy....I have managed my back pain for the last 8 years so will manage this the same way. Grit and determination to not let it get me down cause I am just too darn stubborn to give in:mad: and gosh there are still too many quilts that I want to make..

Mirabelle, the medical people have spoken. You wanted to know and they told you...the pros and the cons. What you do, you do knowing the whole score. Getting older is full of "I-could-do-that-ten-years-ago", but no longer possible at our age. Grandma said 'it was a matter of growing old gracefully' wish I could tell 'grace' what I think about that! :thumbdown: Cannot climb even ladders like I used too; cannot walk as far as I used too; cannot work as hard as I used too; cannot cook big meals like I used too; but I can still 'sit' and 'sleep' and 'eat':thumbup: And I am still breathing. So celebrate today.

QNS--your little ones look cute. It would be great to have something running around to eat the bugs around here! Too bad our dogs would chase them all the time.

D_D--good to hear from you. We had a hot day yesterday and today is supposed to be hot too...90's plus heat index makes it over 100.

Anael--what a fun thing to be able to do. We had pictures taken at my grandparent's anniversary picnic Saturday. He took pictures of groups up to 5 all in the same place then is going to make them into a big panoramic of everyone...there were around 40 of us there. I am looking forward to seeing what he does.

DD...I would run from the heat too. Today it was 77 and over 90% humidity when we got up. I don't think fans will do much good today but the good news is that this should only last one day.

mirabelle....so sorry for the Dr's report. Is there anyway you can modify how you sit or handle your fabric so that it doesn't continue to go down hill? It doesn't get better on it's own.

Today I will be staying cool as possible. I do have all of the blocks made for the WW now but I'm about to be sidetracked again. I ran across this quilt along which really intrigues me.
