Normally I love the changing seasons, we live where usually there are no extremes. Spring is wet, summer gets hot but not bad, Fall is beautiful, and winters can get cold but we are far enough south we don't get huge snowfalls, But this winter has been terrible. So very cold and stays below freezing for days. I have become a Hermit and have cabin Fever big time. I am getting a lot of sewing done, but am so ready for Spring!

Sorry to hear about the shingles but sounds like you have found a way to sew and be warm. My sewing is upstairs on the West wall and rather cool at 60° but bundle up to cut fabric.
Prayers for relief of the shingles, keep sewing along until the weather gets warm again.

My sewing room is the coldest room in the house...it's the last room on the heating vents from the furnace.
I dress warm but still feel the cold...I sit on a fleece blanket so that it covers my back and the backs of the legs all the way to the floor...so no draft.
Cover with another and drink hot coffee as needed.
Can't wait for this winter to leave.

I love winter, but I'm one of those who really doesn't get cold. I hate sweating -- when it is hot there are only so many clothes you can take off!

Hi, ladies, it is the dryness of indoor heat that is drying out my hair, my skin, my ears... I've started putting a pot of water on the cookstove to simmer, to add some humidity. It really does help!! Now I've added some dried buds of lavender, so my whole home smells heavenly. Sleeping with socks on helps me keep my body heat in... but I hear the furnace grinding on and off All... Night... Long... oh, well, not going anywhere.

I really feel bad for all of you in the freezing temps. I am getting ready to go outside to our picnic table and do some piecing. We are near San Diego, CA. and the temps today are going to be in the mid-high 70's. I do so love our nomadic lifestyle as we are able to stay in comfortable weather all year long.

Here in Melbourne Australia we are going through a heatwave over 40 degrees (110 Celcius), our heatwaves are lasting many days with bushfires that have been burning for weeks.

Send some snow over our way.

And to think I used to love winter. I must have been nuts or at least several years younger!! I heat with propane and yes the price is sky rocketing. Nov it was $1.65, Then dec 2.02 and now they say over 5.00 if you can get it. They won't deliver for your outbuildings only your homes and do give you a full tank then. I live on a fixed income and at 5.00 per unit it will cost me right at 800.00 per month to heat. I also have a electric bill that is over 100.00. I dress in at least four layers and cover with a blanket. All my sewing is in the basement and believe me it is cold. I am getting tired of being cold! The outside temp is not real cold but below "0" by several degrees but the wind really cranks it up. We have had several days of -30 wind chill and more. The kids are missing one to two days each week of school due to closings. Looks like they will be in school into the middle of June at least. OK rant is over, try to have a nice day.

It is cold here-some days -50 below. Not sure how to keep warm specially with the winds we have been having, neighbors are losing siding and shingles. And another week of the same coming up.
