I LOVE the Linda Castillo "Kate Burkholder" series.
I have the Kindke unlimited. I don't feel it's worth the $10/mo.
I don't know where you're located but get a library card and get ebooks from there. You can download them onto your kindle, Nook, Kobo or cell phone. Many libraries get the newest books the day they come out. Unfortunately, there's always a long wait list. I scan my libraries numerous times per day to see when they add new content and try to be the first to reserve books when they add them to their site.

Wishing you a speedY recovery. When I was recovering from cervical fusion a few years back I read all the Harry Potter books and thoroughly enjoyed them-- JK Rowling did an excellent job with character development and creating an engaging story line that carries through the whole series. They are well written and a fun read--

I am into one right now about the life of my favorite actor, Gregory Peck. I also have one about Northern Dancer the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby in 2 minutes flat.

Phillip Gulley writes about a ficticious town named Harmony, Indiana. The books are hilarious, easy to read, and you will think you actually know some of the quirky characters. My favorite!!! Other thoughts are "Tales From Grace Chapel Inn" a series of over 40 books about 3 sisters, a nurse, chef and music teacher who run an inn and the visitors who come to rural Pennsylvania. Also I like Fannie Flagg books and just finished "Chicken Soup for the Golden Soul". Happy reading and recuperating!
