Keep in mind, too, that scrubs usually need to be made of a material that can be washed in hot water, often, to remove 'stuff' picked up in a doctor's office or hospital. Blood, for example does not come out of cotton well. The only place I can think of to use it MIGHT be in receptionist clothing.

I made my daughter quite a few when she worked as a CNA. Just from cottons through Joanna's. Got lots of fun prints.

I made my own scrubs from quilters' cotton fabrics; I always had scrubs that no one else had. And, yes, they need to be ironed -- but that's not a problem, as I got to iron my lovely fabric again!

There was a company that made scrubs using Hoffman fabrics.

I used to buy 100% cotton scrubs but I didn't have any problems with wrinkling after I washed them.

I made my scrubs out of all cotton quilt weight fabric. It helps to take finished items out of the dryer as soon as it stops. Did not have much problem with wrinkles. Diane C.

Thanks so much everyone for your input on ironing and stains. My friend is a PT so blood and other stains are not a factor. I myself wear only cotton and linen so ironing is not an issue. I'll pass on the information. :0)

PS One seam leads to another.... I found an easy beginner quilt kit on sale at Craftsy to give her an opportunity to try quilting.

I made a couple of shirts from quilt fabric. They were heavy and hot. I wouldn't recommend it for scrubs.

Made my own scrub tops for years from regular quilting cotton. Sure a little wrinkly BUT you see them after a very busy shift. My scrub wearing Nursing days are done, but still make blouses from quilt cotton.

I made many of my scrub tops from 100% cotton. They were unique and one of a kind. I made many with long sleeves because I'm usually chilly and pressing them was never a chore.
