Need opinions!

I have been watching this site for a few weeks now. Love all the comments and help everyone offers. So now "I" need your opinions, please!
I'm making a "Thomas Train" quilt for the little guy across the street. It is only my 5th quilt. I've done 3 baby, 1 flannel twin size. This is also twin size. The center bulk of the quilt is done (attic windows). My problem is what to do next. I need to add 10 1/2" on each side and 11 1/2" to top & bottom. I'll try and post photos. I have attached 2 strip borders to the bottom left corner along with a solid blue square at corner and blue striped binding. Not sure I like it. Maybe another blue border between the strips? HELP!

if you need to make it bigger, the easiest soloutions is to add borders. I like what you have, but I think maybe a solid border first maybe of the green or the yellow already in the quilt and then the border that you have now to finish it,

its a great quilt...love the attic windows with the prissy cuts....if you are doing such a large border all the way around I would take some of the extra TT fabric and put a strip in the center of the border all the way around...red would look great and pull that color from within the quilt...great job BTW

You are doing a good job. I'd say keep the other prints for another project.
You already have 2 blues, green, yellow and red. IMHO, it would be a good idea to use those in the border(s). You could have simple strips, 4 patches on point with a plain outer strip, get extreme and piece trains and or tracks all around. Now that I think of it, yes, tracks with mitered corners and another border or 2 beyond. Simply make one border pair wider than the other pair to make the difference in width.
