I have never done binding for a round item. I know you use bias cut,but do you join it like regular binding? And what if you pink all around after its sewed on to make it turn to the back smoother???

If you do cut the binding on the bias, you will be amazed at how easily it turns back over to the wrong side.
And, yes, you piece the binding strips together the same way as straight binding. There is a method to cut continuous bias, but I've never bothered with it. Cutting the strips and joining them works just fine.
And what would you pink? The actual binding? It's not like in applique where there is a wrong side.
Make yourself a little sample to check it out.

yes you treat it like you would a straight edge quilt. I don't see any need to pink. I use same techniques as with rectangular quilts. Just no corners to deal with. I close it the same as with other shapes. However, bias is necessary. You might also clip the edges slightly to relax the edges.

Fons and Porter has a cool way of making bias binding from a square you turn into a tube. It is in their big quilting book. It takes some time lining your lines up but a basting stitch first works great.
I will see if I can find it out there in cyber world

Because you're not trying to put more "give" in the quilt top. Again, it's not applique.
And now you'd have slits/pinking cuts after you've already sewn the binding on...so when you go to turn it over, it wouldn't be a solidly filled binding. It might be even less than a 1/4" on the right side (or whatever you were shooting for) because you've got away the quilt.
The more I think about it, the more I think this is not a good idea.

if you do the tube binding you have lots of joins ? what fabric you use[ i used a stripe looked a mess was on a thinking free day!!!]dont pink--clip a little if needed as you go--bias is very forgiving
