athomenow - I have followed multiple videos, trying new ideas. Now, you say stop 1/4 from the end and do the folding thing, which I do. You, however, say to start sewing 1/4 inch in, is that correct? I have always started sewing from the edge once I did the folding thing. Have I actually not be following instructions all this time (believe me, entirely possible!)

Guess what????? A man taught me how to do a perfect mitered corner. I was watching Fons & Porter and Patrick Lose was on and he demonstrated. He does have a video on this technique. They said you can go to fonsandporter.com/lessons to watch video. If not there I would look on you tube.

At work (our LQS) when we make bindings, we lay them back and forth (like making a paper fan) then tie them with a strip of selvedge or a scrap. They do not twist when being sewn onto the quilt's edge. I find this works great for me also. I'll try some of your ideas also -- you never know the best for you until you've tried everything! Thanks for the hints!

That's what I do when I make my binding in advance for a quilt. Or I tie it with a small piece of selvedge or a skinny scrap.
My old brain thinks of things like this 'later' rather than 'sooner', too. It usually happens after I've done something the hard way several times...
