Do you have a Herrschner's web-site (catalog) reference we can look at?

Should I just freeform it around the cats and quilt design on the lap quilt or should I d something else? I hope I've been clearer this time. :)
Here are a couple pictures of a machine embroidered baby quilt I recently quilted for a friend. I also considered cross hatching thru the embroidery. She specifically asked for NO cross hatching. I used it as a practice for my background fills. I have seen them done with cross hatching and I thought they looked great.

I also do handquilting & I use templates which I have purchased from Joanns, Hobby Lobby & quilt stores. Place your template where you want your quilting then trace the design onto your quilt top with a water soluble pencil/pen. I use the SlimLine pen and have been very happy with it.After you have your design traced, start your handquilting. I also handquilt around any fabric designs such as flowers etc.
