So, I make comfort quilts for children's hospital. Got hit by the "Oh I don't have time, I work." comment..
My face still stings after that. Felt like I was slapped.
If I could work, I would !! Was really nice and told this woman, "OK, but I do have time. "
hmmm.. in the dumps today.

Don't let her comments live rent free in your head. They were thoughtless. Literally. She just didn't THINK. The world is full of people who don't THINK before they talk. Take the high road, and smile. Make your day a good one.

I understand How you feel I am unable to work because of a back injury I look at quilting as my job my chance to give back and feel like I am part of society again your job is to quilt you get paid in gratitude which is worth so much more.and look at it this way you get to do what you love to do how many people can say that?!

You will be blessed for your efforts in making the childrens comfort quilts. She will not receive blessings for being rude. I love the comment about not letting her comments live rent free in your head. It is good advice.

Glad you were nice, I'm not sure I would of been, I would of said...
I worked as a concrete mixer driver, 8 to 15 hours a day 6 days a week..but because I fell off my mixer truck I cracked 5 ribs, had to have surgery on my arm and hurt my lower back which now I can no longer do that kind of a job...
Now I have time to quilt...(anything else to say)???
