YOU may have a point there, gf!!! However, Roy can't do that anymore and I've always done the smell test on any I've bought since then. You know the old 'burned once twice shy'? :roll: Gotta protect my sinuses and my headaches so I can quilt more! :lol: :lol:

New mat, no problems.
They're made from petroleum products, and sometimes I think they put bottom of the batch items on the shelves that they shouldn't.

I know I have at least 4 cutting mats.
Fiskars (my preference) an Olfa (hate it) and one on my Alto Quilt cut system...
I don't have any smells...
I must be lucky, cuz I cannot stand any type of smell like rubber or whatever!
