Should I wash and or dry my quilt? I read somewhere that this makes it look more "quiltish". Need opinions from you experienced quilters.

I always wash and dry my quilts. That way if there are any problems I will know about it and can fix it before giving it away.

I always wash mine, also. I like it nice and fresh after all the handling it's endured during piecing, quilting and binding. Makes it look and feel soft and cuddly.

I wash and dry. I need to remove evidence that I had help, my cat, and that we had fish for dinner on Wednesday, and Uncle Fred smoked a cigar..........

Yep as soon as the last stitch is in the binding I toss it in the washer and dryer. It gets all the starch out and to me it really makes it a useable quilt. Prior to washing and dring it just feels like fabric, and stiff fabric if I was in charge of spraying (starch) the fabric!LOL :)

Do you do the same and wash the wall quilts as well as the big ones?

I probably wouldn't wash a wall quilt. I do wash all my to-be-used quilts, though.

Yep, w/a little vinegar, detergent and some color catchers, double rinse, and a touch of fabric softener. Like the crinkled, fresh look and smell.
