When I posted last week that I got my SP package from adeliahartzog I promised to post pictures of all of the great things in my package, but I still have not been able to figure out what I am doing wrong. Sorry Adelia, I will keep trying and see what I can figure out.

Hopefully they haven't jumped ship. This swap is so much fun and the people so nice that I'm hoping not. Though I do find myself going to Quilting Haven because it is like our old board. A lot of our QB members are there.

teresa it's good that you have acclimated yourself to the new board and like the new format but from many the comments (main link), many of the board members disagree with you. the board is no longer easy to navigate nor is it user friendly. the colors of the text and wallpaper are not condusive to long periods of navigation for many (including me) because it is hard on the eyes. it is like an expedition to find the things that you want and the creators of the board never posted a tutorial or tips page to assist board members with the new changes.

it is difficult for me to navigate the board because i cannot tolerate the colors. did you know the creators took away the option of having a black text? the darkest text available is this grey text and the only way to create a decent contrast between the text and the wallpaper color is to bold it. that makes no sense to me.

i am one who is computer savvy and have undergone major company software conversions. i believe in new and improved and i am not one who loathes changes so my observations are not coming from a place of being a change abhorer. i am sure the format of the board needed to change to accomodate the large growing community but more detailed communications to the board community would have been appropriate. the board colors make it hard for many to spend the extra time looking around the board to learn much of anything because of the eye strain. there are few navigational tools available. there are many asking a load of questions and the frustration level is high for many still.

imho, if you have mastered your way around the board you can be a really good resource for others here. to say this new format "really isn't as difficult as a lot of you make it out to be" may prove not be an accurate statement based upon the feedback that has been given by other board users and the reflections of patricej, one of the moderators. several board participants have left, just given up, some are participating a lot less and others are participating only as needed as they were involved in activities. hopefully as the board creators move along, they will think to create some navigational tools and tips and continue to improve the colors of the board. it would never occur to me to admonish others due to the difficulty they are having with the new format because so many are. it is not a figment of their imagination it is real the difficulties they are having. i just want to encourage everyone to hang in there and it will get better. when i don't know but i believe.

Start from the beginning and go to each and every topic and area on this board. You will be surprised at what you find. I know it can be very frustrating, it was for me too, so much so I was ready to quit. BUt then I took a deep breath and just went exploring and it really isn't as difficult as a lot of you make it out to be. Just try it, you'll get used to it like I did and will even find what you've been looking for. And too, we are here as a group to help those who are still having difficulty.

I too disagree. I am no computer dummy. I have spent hours, not minutes exploring this board. I still come here everyday, but........ I do not enjoy it like I used to. It isn't fun anymore.

When people use big bold type, it looks like you are screaming at us.

Don't get me wrong, I was just as happy with the old board too. But we really don't have a choice here, we can't bring the old board back as much as we would like to. GRUMPY, I assume you changed your settings like we all have talked about in the past to post pics. OK, so then do you have Photobucket? If not, get it, if so, you can post your pics from there to here simply by copying the html address and pasting it in here. I hate to see you and everybody else struggle in here so I will try my best to help you post your pics. Don't give up! BTW, I am in no way calling anybody a computer dummy....I really apologize for stirring up a hornets nest, just trying to help here.....will shut up now.

Hi everybody. I have to agree that I am not crazy about the new format either.I have figured most of it out though. I also know very little about computers. (self-taught) Seems that most of the ones that can't post pictures need to make the picture much smaller. You do that on your own computer through your picture program. It took me awhile to figure out how to do mine too.Other than that I don't know how to help anyone with posting picture suggestions. If it says download failed it is usually because it is too big .Make the picture smaller. If it still won't work make it even smaller till you can download it.I hope this helps someone. As far as the daily newsletter,to me it's a waste. If you click on "What's new?" at the top of every page you will see all the new stuff.Like what's for sale, links to visit, recipes etc. Good luck to everyone.I'm sorry your husband is out of work. I hate to hear that, and I hear it more all the time.Have a great day everybody. Mary

EXACTLY about re sizing the pic. I had to do this also with my 2nd attempt at posting because the uploading kept failing. After I re sized it, it posted beautifully. I used my photobucket to re size mine.

If you want to help, it would be great to tone down your print selection because it is really hard on the eyes in addition to being hard to read anyway. Here and now is not the time to get artistic or create individuality -- some of us are old with old eyes. We need relief any time and anywhere we can get it. Please don't take offense, but you asked if you could help. Just a suggestion . . .
