I'd say for a "newbie" you did a great job and I love the colors. Great quilt.

Do not be ashamed--be proud of your work. Think how many will never, ever do even one quilt!

Wow. This was really fun to look at all your quilts. My very first quilt was one I made under duress. i had a quilting friend who felt sure I would love quilting so she gave me a set of I Spy squares and I made a quilt for my then 8 year old son. I said the entire way through that I didn't think I was ever going to make another quilt. Too fussy and I was too perfectionist. I finished it and then loved it on his bed and he adored it so I then made my second quilt but really my first quilt that I chose to make from the book The Quilt Makers Gift. The friendship star. I chose the pattern and colour shceme so that feels like my first quilt. I tied the I spy quilt as too terrified to do anything else and hand quilted around the friendship star and tied the rest. Don't do much hand stuff now though. So I haven't looked back. Great to see all the work.

    Ok Deb,
Your kidding right? It is just not fair, some people get it all, brains, beauty (bet your blonde haired blue eyed too...lol) and talent. If you keep this up we'll all be taking lessons from you. It really is beautiful and perfect. If you ever want to get rid of it I'll give it a good home...lol

    Beautiful, and beautifully framed.

I gotta say, I'm a bit surprised at the caliber of "first" quilts.

I thought first quilts would look like....a first quilts. Like my first quilt looks like a first quilt. Like the person who made it didn't have a clue as to what they were doing.

Which is not what these look like. At all.

I'm keeping my wrapped up in a bag at the bottom of a box.
