Kristi, congratulations on your first place win!! That's great! And your fabrics in the black and white above are pretty cool.

    Kristi,

Congrats of the win with your sail boat quilt.

I'm glad that your herd of zebras found their way home and onto your design wall. Love the lime green and the zing it adds without taking over the quilt.

Here's the zebras all done! This one is called 'Spark of Life'. It's all ready to quilt now, this one might go on the frame next...

This is the 5th challenge...so May:

And here's the 4th challenge (April). The top is all pieced. I want to do some fancy quilting in the big 'negative space sections' that I'm not quite ready to do yet. I need to practice a little more. I'm planning on quilting the black and white one first.

And this months! I'm almost done piecing!!! (Just need to put the 3 rows together.)

I stretched this challenge a bit. I used a large scale floral (I love that purple!), and I used a stripe from my stash instead of a plaid. I'm not ready to tackle curves yet (maybe next year!) so I decided to do a BIG one block quilt. This is a 42'inch quilt. The squares are 7 inches across. I looks fabulous! I love this so much, I'm thinking to do some more 'big block' quilts in large scale fabrics.

Wow, Kristy! They all look great! The big one block quilt must be a lot of fun. If I had to vote on my favorite, it'd be the black and white. I really love that asymmetrical pop of lime . Your design is wonderful.

Kristi, great quilts! I love the one big block quilt and the black, white and green one. You must be very comfortable playing around with different types of symmetry.

I've been procrastinating getting started on the August challenge. The suggested block isn't "talking to me". So I've been quilting UFOs instead. Time to get back on track.

    Smile Final Challenge

    Good morning challenge quilters.

It's time for the final challenge. This one will focus on combining two different types of fabrics. There are no color restrictions. Please refer to pages 56-63 in the book Quilt challenge "what if" ideas for color and design. The rules are getting more relaxed. Another block may be substituted if you prefer.

Please remember to post pictures of your projects for all of us to enjoy and learn from.
