On GI last year I started with only what I had in my stash, then as I ran out, I would just get 4-6 half yard cuts and keep going. I ran out and added more several times. You are making part of a block with each step. So adding more fabric in later steps, it will still be spread out over the entire quilt because the new stuff will still be in every block.

How impressed I am that you are doing this and not have easy access to fabric! I love your fabrics and will be looking forward to seeing your completed project.

Okay.... I'm not afraid to admit that I absolutely hate my Easy Angle ruler. I cannot get enough accuracy, even though I have tried using every trick in the book for the past three mystery quilts. I have officially retired the darn thing.
On the plus side, I used the free HST paper method and my jaw literally dropped.... fast, easy, and EVERY unit was the perfect size with no trimming! I am definitely a convert!
Connecting threads has Triangulations on sale for half price today so I had to splurge! They also have Mirage mottled fabrics on sale, and I got several FQ of reds, golds, neutrals and blacks to round out my stash for Allietare. Each FQ was only $1.04, so I have no guilt! Only downside is that shipping may be delayed to the overwhelming response to their Cyber-Monday sale, but I can wait

I have over a third done and am waiting for my Accuquilt Go! to get here to do the rest. I am with you Wholeheart in that I tried the Easy Angle and it isn't the method for me. I was doing the Crazy 8, or is it Magic 8, anyway it is better for me than the Angle ruler. Havent tired the paper method you mentioned.

Fraew, Love the brown with the neutrals!
being able to share pictures is a nice motivator to get something done. I've got about 2/3 trimmed and should finish trimming up the rest this afternoon. Then I'll put it aside and get back to my other current project.

@MadQuilter and Macybaby: I went with grey. It's darker than the paint chips and the coloring must be off with my photo.
I'm not hardly brave enough to go rogue and select my own colors for one of BH's mysteries.

If you don't get them all finished pause and start on the next clue as Bonnie suggests so you have something of each clue completed.
Even though Bonnie encourages people to use her Easy Angler it's just not for everyone. I have used it successfully but also use the Two Squares RST and other methods. Sometimes it depends on how many I need as to which method I use. The bottom line is what ever works for you is your best way!
