OK lacedady: Do you have the pattern/directions for your borders???? I thought that I would like to have the borders like the ones in the book until I saw yours. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can't wait to hear back from you on this. I am working on my blocks but it is slow go.

Blessings!!

No pattern, just winging it. I got the idea of the heart/flowers from the book - just look at the top of any page with a design on it, and it has flowers printed on the border design there. But I am putting mine on in a more random fashion - sometimes higher, sometimes lower, and some tilted in one direction or the other. The vine part I just drew on with my sewling pencil in what seemed like a pleasing way, stitching them with an under or over effect on the revers app. so they hopefully look like they are threaded through them.

Your blocks are fantastic. I am still working on my first block. Tried freezer paper turn under, glue stick, liquid starch and have decided, after ripping the one I halfway did with freezer paper, that I will do the instructions given to us fusing everything down and then do machine embroidery. I one who jumps right in and then rips. My DH calls me the "Queen Ripper". :x I did try the invisable thread for the top thread on my little Janome and it worked great! I am determined to do these blocks because I love them so :D .All the beautiful pictures posted and the book are helping me decided on colors. Hope to post my first one soon. :-D

Good luck lizzy. You have company on that throne I'm pretty sure though. We are here waiting and looking forward to seeing your block!

I thought I would share a progress pic on where I am now. I've made some decisions about which direction I'm going...I am doing trapunto, found a great quilting design to use. I decided on which fabric to use for the trapunto blocks and I've gotten them all cut and marked. Now I'm waiting on more wash away thread and more wash away quilt markers to come.

I'm going to do something with the light fabric and bright orange for the frame around the center section. The next border of blocks will be larger than 7"...but I'll wait until i get the center put together to make darn sure I know what size I'll need to do them.

Anyway..here she is so far...

So far....
