    Welcome Trish and Michele!

The purple and blue backgrounds both sound like wonderful choices!! These quilts are all going to run the gamment for colors and all look so different! I can't wait to see them!

Michele..I'm doing the 7" blocks by hand. Mind you, I don't have thick hair to begin with and I'm getting less by the day...but it can be done

So sorry about the cold Debbie, hope you get better soon - sounds as if you need to be fighting fit to cope with everything on your plate.

Luv, what potholder patterns are you using? I got one as a Christmas swap that was a DJ block pattern. I love it.

You take good care of yourself so you don't get sicker. The cold I got from my granddaughter last month went into bronchitis.

for the potholders i went into EQ7 and picked some blocks, printed them as 8" pp blocks and got started.

DD bought me some cold medicine (she has a vested interest in keeping me healthy). besides being DH's caregiver i am her babysitter lol. luv those babies.

I have some news! A lady on this Board - lydialee who currently lives in Florida is moving to, of all places, Hobbs - yup, right here. She called me the other night to let me know she is here on a house buying trip. I am so excited. Rather than overwhelming her right now wth all her relocation concerns, I'm going to wait a while to drag her (probably kicking & screaming) to this group. Her DH has gotten a job here and they are relocating. He's been here about a month. She's here until the 20th. Am taking her to quilt club next Thursday night. I forgot to ask her if she wanted to go to LQS on Saturday. I think she was a little disappointed that I work 5 days a week & don't have the time to spend with her. Will call her in a bit as it's dinner time right now. Anyway, I am excited about having a quilting buddy of my own!

Gotta get back to ironing those tiny pieces onto the background of Block #19.

How cool for you Kathy!!!! Its exciting that you are going to have an "in person" quilting bud! Yes...she will have to jump on board! (Of course you'll be done with yours by then :D: )

That is so neat that you'll have someone close to work with.

Patty, are you intending to do these blocks by machine, or try hand applique. As you haven't done any hand sewing, I think I would recommend you try a couple of machine samples before you make a final decision - and no, we won't tell a soul!

If you check out pages 26/27 here on this thread, I did a few samples for people to look at.
I have almost got my first block done. I am hand sewing it. My friend that is showing me said it looks good and I'm a natural at this. I want to believe her because she makes me tare things out if there not right. So I'm off like a heard of turtles. Wish me will.
