I find soo much like mindedness here. "Nip it in the bud." is good advise. Stash seems to grow without intentionally adding to it. It grows in the space in the back on shelves, also drawers beckons it and heaven knows we all need that extra yardage! Oh the 'what if's' of running out. I aa... bought some software for my embroidery stuff. It was on sale and it should be easy to use and it's manipulating the alphabet to do things that are really fun...but did I really need it? I don't think so. I'm having buyers remorse. I seem to be able to justify just about any purchase I make regarding this craft of mine. When I receive it I think I'll send it back. I'm just sayin this thread is very healthy for me. It makes me think about what I am spending.

I won a gift certificate on the FabShop Hop. To use the full amount, I spent 50¢ on fabric. Not a huge fall off the wagon, I think.

That's a happy bag, red.
Angelia, I hope the gift certificate was for more than 50cents. lol

It was for ten dollars. I could get six fat quarters for nine dollars, but that would leave one dollar unused, so I got one more and paid the fifty cents difference. I'm a bit of a miser, I'm afraid--couldn't leave that dollar behind!

Angelia i don't want to be an enabler but if you won a gift certificate that should be ok. I am running a mystery quilt for my guild and am having trouble finding suitable fabrics in my stash. I need 5 and am only coming up with 4 that work. I will continue to dig again tomorrow otherwise I will have to buy a yard of fabric. I don't seem to have a lot of blenders.

Sewred, very nice bag!!!
So far I have not bought any fabric. I did instead buy, some yarn to make a crochet afghan from JoAnn's. This week I will start doing the QB's train ride mystery quilt, it's a scrappy this time. This week I'm sorting my scraps so I can start making the quilt. It shouldn't take too long to make the quilt top. All of this is from my stash. I'll post pic when I'm done. Have fun sewing and quilting everyone.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's trials and triumphs. I have one of both myself. When I joined this challenge, I said I would be purchasing some specific fabric from Marshall's Dry Goods. I purchased exactly what I had intended even though there was a new line I really wanted (I have trouble passing up quilt shop quality for $1.95 a yard -- but I did!).
My trial was I'm participating in a block swap that uses certain colours. I had three in my stash but needed to buy the fourth -- 1-1/2 yards. Thousands of Bolts had what I needed, but their shipping is the same up to 6 yards. <sigh> So I caved and purchased 2 yards of a fabric I fell in love with that I hadn't planned. But I'm proud of myself that I only purchased 2 yards extra instead of the 4 I normally would have. So can that be treated as a partial fail?
