and i'll add- all 3 (my 2 sons and my nephew) are very much Manly-men
they are gear heads- into cars, stereos- hunting- sports...
they have insisted their girlfriends learn to sew if she didn't already- they work on quilts & crafts with their girlfriends-
challenge- and compete....there is nothing feminine about them---

Jcpenny= child slave labor in china where almost all fabric is made, and you get the lower quality fabric and quilting. We've all been told the same from those that are ignorant to the cost of fabric. You cant hold ignorance against someone, all you can do is educate them.

BEST of show posting!!! You definitely hit the bull eye's with your comment. What a great way to solve the old problem with family members who don't understand how much blood, sweat and tears goes into a quilt.

I just bought 2 yards 0f flannel today for pj bottoms. It was not the most expensive around but I liked it. The price was nine dollars for the two yards. I could have walked over and bought one ready made for the same price on the clearance rack but then I would not have gotten the scraps to use in another quilt. There is a reason behind my madness. :)
Yes if you don't sew you do not understand the cost. It is the same way with cooking and convenience food. I just don't understand people now days. Except here of course :D)

Sounds like one of those times when we can appreciate those species who eat their young!
