2015/16 birthday swap...candy style 2.5"
#381
Checking in for April! Michellesews here. Been a hectic month. My DH had surgery on the 1st... They replaced 2 discs in his neck. One year ago we were doing his lower back. We have nurses and therapists in and out of the house all day every day, not that I'm complaining about the care... But it is disruptive. He is doing well and I'm going to see to it that he makes a full recovery! I told his doctor that we would not be back NEXT year, we ARE going to stop meeting like this...lol. April has become my "rough" month apparently. My Dad died on the 6th a year ago and my mother on the 13, two years ago. So I guess you could say I'm looking forward to May! In the sewing department I have been making a few blouses for myself and just keeping up with my blocks of the month. I have 4 of those, they are an El's Kitchen bee, the Craftsy Jinny Beyer block, my Guild block and the block for the bee I host in my home at the end of the month. I'm enjoying the candy swap, especially seeing what others have done with theirs. Blessings to all! Michelle Guadarrama, El Paso, Texas

Hi Michelle
I completely understand about April. It is a hard month for me as well. My daughter Emily was born on April 11 and passed away the following year on April 20th. April and Easter are hard times.
But I did get blessed in April my son Matthew was born a few years after Emily died. Then we added my daughter-in-law to the family and her birthday is April 22. And then there is a bonus to make April even more special. Henry my first Grandson was born on his dad's birthday April 7th!
so I hope that you can find some really good days to celebrate in the very hard month. I will be glad to share

Hello Ladies
I just wanted to let you know that Scrappin18 (Holly) has decided not to join us in the swap. Please take her off your list. Since she did not have a birthday she does not owe anyone anything.
Thanks

Ah, Washington looks so beautiful! We were in Memphis this weekend and it has burst into bloom too! Every street was lined with beautiful pink and white dogwoods, and azaleas of every color imaginable. I saw white hydrangea like giant snowballs! Here at home we only have the blue ones, and sometimes pink. It was so gorgeous.
We ended up staying an extra night and just got home this afternoon. My packages from Daisy Dew and Dottie Dodge came, and also "Judi G."... is that ajakol, by any chance? That one came postage due, so I will be pm-ing ajakol to see how she wants to handle that. Her card was really little and the candies were piled up to be too fat for the first class letter rate. It seems they need to be in 4-6 stacks to remain thin enough to get the letter rate-- so the bigger cards are actually cheaper to mail. Or just a bigger envelope.
I'll take pictures a bit later and show you all... just wanted to let these ladies know their packages arrived. Thank you!
