    Thanks for the tips!
Though, I think it is one pattern that you'd definitely need the pattern!!

Your weaving strips .... are they strips sewn and turned? Or do you have a batting inside of them?
The strips are 2-1/2" by 44". You use one layer of batting (I used warm & natural), fold the strip together lengthwise with rights sides together and batting on top. Then sew one short side and down the full length of the long side and turn. By closing one short end, it is easier to turn. When assembling the strips on the bottom, use the raw edge short end. You will end up cutting off the closed short end when you trim the top.

I love it. The bag itself is very interesting and the fabrics are beautiful.

Thanks!! The more you tell use, the more you are luring me into this ... though it looks almost impossible to get all those legs and arms to cooperate!

The pattern lays out the approach to get them all lined up.
Looking forward to seeing your tote.

I am working on this bag at the moment & came here to search and sure enough, great pictures! Just starting to lay my strips onto the bottom shape & couldn't decide if they were supposed to lay straight & if so...then how did I get them sewn on.... THANK YOU so much for your picture!

It might have been challenging for you, but it sure did turn out great. Your success must have felt wonderful - you have such a great bag.
