I made two simple Lone Star quilts for practice before beginning a complicated third one. Completed two Dresden Plate tops for a friend whose mother and grandmother left some finished blocks, partially finished blocks and a pile of cut out pieces (1930 vintage).

There is a wonderful strip-pieced quilt in Singer's 1996 Quilted Projects & Garments book. See cover here:

I've made several variations of this, which unfortunately, I cannot find photos of right now.

This is my first version of it; made in a weekend; many batiks

I haven't been doing this long enough to repeat a pattern. I've been taking classes, each of which expands the skills I've learned.

Lucky Stars was a class pattern and is definitely one that I'd do again. It was fairly easy but the layout was fussy - because **I'm** fussy.

    Love your quilts Katier.

Me too! I did about 9 or 10 Lucky Stars in a nine patch variety for baby quilts. Normally, when I find a new pattern that I am trying, I do at least 2 of that pattern to imprint it on my brain. Sometimes I find one I really like and make a whole bunch of them!

I have made 62 strip tube quilt tops. I had scraps and remnants and only needed 2½" strips and they worked up fast and easy, no two were alike. It was like a factory. Did 20 at a time. I have made about 15 Little Twister tops as well. Great for charity quilts, I am a chapter coordinator for Project LInus.

I've done a couple that I have used the same pattern on, with different fabrics. But mostly I like trying new things so that I don't get bored with it. I generally have more than one project going at a time any way. Like crocheting, and a quilt, and a cross stitch picture, then I can pick up which ever one I'm in the mood for. Takes a little longer to get things finished but I don't get bored.

My log cabin quilt is so slow going that I don't think I can make another one in my lifetime--LOL. It's my take along/vacation project & it's all done with blue & white scraps. No scraps = no work on it.

I didn't even consider using the same fabric for the same pattern. I don't have enough yardage to do that and even if I did--I wouldn't. I often have to choose fabric based on how much yardage I have for a particular pattern and have made do with a different fabric/same color to finish a quilt several times.

I have used Yellow Brick Road pattern 15 times. I find it is the perfect quilt for that grad getting ready for college, the perfect Thank You quilt and the best one to teach a beginner.

Blooming Nine Patch. I have made several. They all come out beautiful (if I can boast a little). It is from Blanche Young's, 'Tradition with a Twist'.

If I use the same pattern for 2 quilts in a row it's 1 quilt too many! There are a few that I have made more than once, but I like to mix it up and do something different in between. I even get bored making blocks for a large quilt, thus UFOs.
