Fully understand. Our vacations are for the same things. He fishes and I quilt. He'd never see a fish if I went with him, the same as I would never have any quilts done if he'd help me sew. And new scenery just makes so much difference. Good for you.
What the others don't understand is their loss. :)

Sounds like a dream come true. This spring I went to stay at my friend's cabin for a week, & we quilted every day. Just loved it. We were up north at Lac Laronge, Sk.

Sounds like you had a great vacation. When I go away on vacation, my sewing is the first thing packed and with much thought and precision too I might add :)

Yup, totally understand. My husband used to load up his horse and roping gear for a roping weekend...me, I would load up my sewing stuff and hang in the motel for the weekend. One time he said, "There are some people you might like to see at the arena so you might want to go down and visit." I said, "Or not." Come to think of it, he needs to go to another weekend roping. He kind of retired from it this year. Sewing is the first thing that I pack up...before clothes or anything.
