I made one years ago and wish I could show you but I do not know how to put photos on here I fussy cut all my fabric using templates and scissorsusing a fish fabric in all of the squares even the little ones had some offers of people wanting to buy it but I still have it so it is one of 21 others still on my spare bed go for it you do not need special rulers or anything if you like the pattern and fabric you will enjoy it have fun

You can find the paper pieced pattern for free at Quilter's Cache www.quilterscache.com

I started mine years ago, and it is still in the UFO pile. Good luck with yours.

What gorgeous quilts! Thanks a lot. Now there's another quilt on the bucket list. I'm going to have to live to be 200 to get them all done.

this is the one I made for my DH when he retired from the coast guard. It is paper pieced, but it was really easy! It is also the very first I designed in EQ4!

Did one for our Guild raffle quilt and one for my granddaughter. If you're going to do it, and it is a beautiful quilt, I suggest you do it by paperpiecing. It was not easy to quillt either.

Our guild used storm at sea blocks in our raffle quilt and precut the blocks. After piecing a couple of these, make sure your grain line is true and square when the pieces are cut. Creative Grids has a ruler now, but haven't tried it. Paper piecing may be best. Also, putting two triangle units together for the long sides would be better than the long diamond we used (which really distorted). I have been collecting blue greens to do a scrappy storm at sea, but am wondering if something else would be better, now. Best of luck.

I am just finishing a "faceted jewel" quilt using the same idea ass storm at sea and am amazed at how changing the angle on the points makes the effect of a circle. I think you would enjoy seeing it develop.

No Way! It's on my short list of MUST make quilts. It's not a goal yet for 2012 or maybe it is toward the end of the year. But if not, it's definitely 2013. It's one of my favorite patterns. You must show and tell if you decide to make it. And any tips for making, I will definitely be looking for.
